After its initial disinfection and inspection, our technicians tested the Avanti J-15R with the following results:
– Refrigeration holds at 4°C (with no buckets): PASSED
– No excessive noise/imbalance. Spins down properly: PASSED
– Unit works well: PASSED
Other Key Information
– The buckets are for a JS-4.3 rotor but the rotor is a JS-4.750. We have seen numerous times where people used buckets from another beckman rotor and no issues were caused. They are the same size and seem to work interchangeably just fine. This is something the manufacturer may frown upon however with the number of times we’ve seen this occur and the inability to find 4.750 buckets, we are going to try out including buckets from a different rotor. We will still back our warranty on this with the wrong buckets. Don,t see any issues arising from this.
